Small Business Entrepreneurship

Program Summary

This is a semester-length program designed to give students the skills necessary to organize, create, develop and manage a business. It helps expose you to problems and challenges faced by entrepreneurs. This course gives students the needed skills to run a business, and helps them to become familiar with the personality traits that successful business owners share. It will also teach you how planning, research and operations can each affect a small business concern. It will help you learn marketing strategies and effective business management.

This program teaches you the basics of entrepreneurship and business ethics; you will study the major steps related to starting a business. These steps include arranging financing, marketing and managing an ongoing business. Looking at and analyzing business plans will help you develop one of your own, while helping you understand the importance of a business plan. The program was created as an overview of running a business from start to finish.

Program Requirements

Students are required to be computer literate and have access to the Internet, along with basic research skills and the ability to access recommended websites and conduct online searches. Students may be required to use presentation and word processing software to produce projects.
